Tai chi vs. qigong – Which should you learn?

You might have heard the term “qigong” or “chi kung” tossed around with tai chi in my previous blogs. Qigong can be broken down into two words. The first word, qi (pronounced “chee”), is most commonly known as the energy that resides within’ all living things. The second word, “gong”, means practice or exercise. Put the two words together, you get “the practice of cultivating qi.”

Here’s my attempt to define the difference between tai chi and qigong in a way that’s easy for everyone to understand. This Venn diagram should help you determine which practice is right for you.
